Rotary Radio Night

This year’s Rotary Radio Night will be April 6. This is the night before local elections. Dee is heading up our big scholarship fund raiser again this year. Anyone who is on that committee needs to contact Dee and give him a hand. And if you are not on that committee , you can still give a hand. Also, will need Rotarians to help with 30 minute shifts to read advertisements. We always have Senior Rotarians , who help out, which is a lot of fun. Be sure to help think of businesses or politicians who we can get to donate to this worthwhile cause. More info as we get closer. And we are getting closer.

Weekly Observations

Social Security… Is it just me or isn’t social security related to feeling at ease at a junior high party asking a girl to dance? Financial Security on the other hand would imply that one does not have to worry about money in the future. But, I think I know why our government didn’t call it Financial Security, because then we would get into all the stuff about “truth in advertising” which would then lead to law suits and more work for…..no, I am not going to say anything else about, well I am just not going to say!

PROGRAM

Rotarian of the Day: Tim Williams

Tim Williams was born and raised in Vinita and graduated Vinita High School in 1972. After some college at OSU and marriage, he returned to Vinita and purchased Leonard Rich’s clothing store. In 1979 Tim went to work for First National Bank as a teller. His secret to success is “Don’t quit and don’t die”.

Tim and his wife, Robin, have four children. Brad and Jenny live in New York and Amanda and Jessica live in Vinita. They have three wonderful grandsons and a fourth grandchild will join the family in mid-April.

Tim enjoys his grandchildren (if it is a short visit), OSU sports and woodworking in his shop.

Today’s Program

Jay Franklin will be today’s speaker. Jay is a life-long resident of Craig County and a graduate of that great university, Oklahoma State. In addition to being a farmer, he is an instructor for Northeast Technology Center in their adult education program where he teaches Agri-Business. His program will be related to Agri-Business.
